Kari grew up on her family's horse farm near Chicago Illinois. She has
been riding Tennessee Walking Horses since she was 4 years old and
showing them since the age of 10. Kari has been schooled in English,
Western, Dressage, and Jumping and has been training professionally
since she was in her 20's. In 2005 she moved to Kaufman Texas to offer
her training expertise and knowledge. Kari is a

If you’re gaited horse is pacey, trotty or inconsistent, Kari has the
knowledge and skill to correct the horses gait to the best of each
individual horse's natural ability.
If you
have a pushy, disrespectful or spooky horse, Kari's natural
horsemanship skills will get those issues under control so you can
better enjoy a safe, pleasant relationship with your horse.
Kari is known for her use
of natural horsemanship and she develops a partnership with your horse to
instill confidence and willingness. She limits the number of
horses she enrolls for training to ensure a high quality,
personalized training experience for each horse and owner. She can start your
new colt, help with your problem horse, prepare your horse for trail
riding, or refine them for the show ring. Kari takes the time necessary to
use 100% natural methods to develop and enhance your horse’s smooth, four beat
gait and ensure your horse is a safe, responsive and willing partner.
She starts with groundwork to make your horse is calm,
responsive, leading nicely and standing still to mount.
She spends many hours riding in a
flat walk to facilitate the development of the appropriate
muscle memory and improve the natural gait. Through many many hours of
groundwork and riding, Kari helps your horse develop the muscles, strength,
stride and form that contributes to the smooth and natural flat walk and
animated head nod that are so desirable in the Tennessee Walking Horse. She has
the skill, patience, confidence and willingness it takes to develop a horse's
natural gait. She also takes the time to teach you to continue riding your
horse correctly when you are ready to take it home or to the show ring.
Kari is a very
gifted teacher and available for lessons. She trains horses but is also able to
teach the more challenging pupils, the owners! Kari's optimistic
outlook puts both the horse and rider at ease, making for a relaxed and
comfortable learning environment. This allows you to develop the
desirable relationship with your horse, and the safe, comfortable ride you
expect. Her approach helps you develop the relationship and communication
necessary to interact effectively and safely with your horse. Kari helps you
gain the knowledge required to keep your horse behaving and riding well when
you take him home.
